Optional Equipment
Admix Systems
Allows the use of liquid admixtures such as air entrainment, water reducers, super plasticizers, accelerators, and retarders. Flow rates ranging from 4 ounces per minute to 5 gallons per minute depending on specified flow meter and admixture. These are pressurized tanks with pressure regulators and gauges for accurate control and dispensing of admixtures. This eliminates costly pumps which must be periodically replaced.
Low Flow Admixture System - For lower concentrations of admixtures per yard. The Low Flow system uses a 20 gallon galvanized steel tank or optional stainless steel tank.
High Flow Admixture System - For higher concentrations of admix per yard. The High Flow system uses a 42 gallon galvanized steel tank or optional stainless steel tank.
Ticket Printers

Resettable mechanical counter with a non-resettable totalizer. The totalizer is useful for scheduling periodic maintenance.
Digital Metering System
With our Digital Metering System, there is no longer a need to convert a count number, with many variations for mix designs, into cubic yards. Our units are able to show the operator, as well as the customer, an actual reading of cubic yards produced at any given moment. The LCD panel at the operator's station shows the cubic yards produced on a continual basis.
Our in cab Interface Panel stores all of the necessary information that the operator needs, along with the current yardage being produced. Gate settings for aggregates, flow meter readings for admixtures (as many as 6), and specified strength for up to 99 mix designs can be stored. If so desired, the panel can also store the quantities per yard of each component of all 99 mix designs and can be printed on each ticket.
The in cab printer can be loaded with the name, address and phone number of the producer, as well as the actual yardage produced. The mix design can also be printed for D.O.T. requirements. The printed receipt is available in 1 or 2 part format, so that the customer can be given a copy. The system also produces a cumulative record of production for inventory control or maintenance purposes. The information is stored on a removable memory card and may be downloaded directly to a computer via a USB cable.
Manual Chute System
This chute system is standard equipment on all 400N1 series units and are permanently attached to the auger which requires no heavy lifting. Another advantage is the abilty to expand the chutes from 4 feet to 8 feet (1219 mm to 2438 mm) in 6 inch (152.4 mm) increments. This allows the operator to cover more area without moving the mixer.
Hydraulic Chute System
This chute is especially useful in flatwork applications. The angle of the chute can be adjusted by the operator while delivering concrete, as can the length of the chute from 5 to 11 feet (1524 mm to 3353 mm) in any increment desired. This option is controlled by the operator, from his control panel. It offers the additional benefits of eliminating the need for a "chute man" and moving the truck as often.
Swivel Chute System
This chute is designed to reach areas previously requiring moving the unit. This option offers a second swing ring at the end of the mix auger, which can rotate 200 degrees, allowing concrete to be placed beside the truck. This chute is carried on the auger, freeing up the deck space and saving time.
Pump Chute
Provides an efficient method of placing concrete into a concrete pump, wheelbarrow, or buggy. The 18" long chute quickly attaches to the discharge end of the mix auger. It is lightweight and allows for faster clean up.
Electric Recoil Tarp
In cab switch provides easy operation to cover & uncover the aggregate bin. Most states require bin to be covered when loaded.
Aggregate Bin Liner
An acrylic-reinforced aliphatic aromatic polyurethane coating applied to the inside of the aggregate bins to prevent bin abrasion, bin corrosion, and permit smooth flow of aggregates.
Latex Modified Concrete
The latex modified concrete (LMC) option is designed for companies which must meet the demands of the job requirements. It includes all of the standard equipment plus two admix tanks, a 300 gallon stainless steel water tank, an air load kit (which allows the user to fill the cement bin directly form the cement tanker), two stone bin vibrators, a water recording meter, material feed tachometer, diesel engine package, five spot lights, strobe light.
It also includes a 500 gallon stainless steel latex tank, hydraulic drive latex pump with pressure gauge, latex flow meter, latex recording meter, latex pump recycle relief valve, latex pressure warning gauge switch with light alarm, and the latex water flush system.
Fiber Dispenser
The use of fiber reinforced concrete within the construction industry is growing at a rapid rate. In fact, because of it's structural benefits, many architects and engineers are specifying fiber reinforced concrete in their projects. Zimmerman Industries has a patented fiber feeder that will automatically introduce the fiber into the mix auger.
The feeder is powered by a variable speed hydraulic motor, so the amount of fiber can be adjusted to meet various specifications. The fibers are stretched and fluffed through the use of rotating fingers and a high volume air flow system insures a consistent material flow to the mix auger. The Fiber Dispenser uses 1/2" to 1 1/4" (12.7mm to 31.75mm) polypropylene monofilament.
Features and benefits include:
* Automatically feeds fiber
* Fluffs and stretches fibers
* Buy fiber in bulk, not bags
* Eliminate manual feeding
* Increased accuracy
* Patented system
Liquid Color System
Our Liquid Color System can be used with various manufacturers' liquid color products and is designed to allow changes of color in minutes. The variable speed peristaltic pump not only compensates to allow the changes of color needed (based on manufacturer's specifications), but also provides the availability to produce shades of each color.
Cleaning of the system can be done in minutes by simply flushing the system with clean water. The system is also designed so that it can be used to pump the liquid color from its' shipping container into the dispensing tanks.
High Production (60 yards per hour)
This option enables the production of 60 cubic yards per hour at a 5 bag mix in accordance with ASTM C685. This feature includes a 9' x 12" diameter mix auger, material feed flow control valve, and a tachometer for accurate control of the desired concrete production rate.
Aggregate Bin Screens
Prevents possible damage of equipment by screening materials through a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" (63.5mm x 63.5mm) opening. All units sold outside the United States will be equipped with bin screens.
Variable Speed Cement
This option provides the ability to hydraulically control the cement feed with an infinite number of possibilities. This is most commonly used for companies with mix designs which require atypical cement/pozzolan addition rates.
Pozzolan Bin
Provides storage and metering of pozzolanic materials (ie. flyash, slag, etc.) to be introduced into the concrete mix. It includes hydraulic variable speed with a tachometer so that the pozzolan may be added quickly at any addition rate desired. It may be run idepentantly from other materials and is availalble in various sizes to compliment cement production capabilities.
Stainless Steel Bins
This option includes the cement bin, aggregate bin, and mixer main frame being manufactured of grade 304 stainless steel. It provides the owner confidence that corrosion will not deteriorate the mixer regardless of environmental conditions.
Spot Light Package
Provides light for nighttime operation. Lights illuminate the operator's control panel area, the aggregate bin material discharge area, and the work area.
Roll & Pour
This option provides the capability to produce concrete while the unit is moving. Used for sidewalks, filling ditches, and curb applications. There are several different models of this option available depending on customer and chassis specifications. The systems hydraulic power may come from a front mount pump, standard or automatic transmission PTO, Repto (rear engine PTO) or from a pony engine. Operator switches will be mounted in the cab for driver operation or may be tether/radio remote controlled for operation outside the cab.
Flowable Fill
This option is used to service contractors, municipalities and utilities requiring the use of a high quality/low cost back fill material. The most common uses are for "Flowable Fill" and "controlled low strength material" mixes. Provided in this option is an infinitely controlled hydraulic variable speed motor, and two independently controlled stone bin vibrators.
Insulated Water Tank
Non-transparent insulated blanket fastens to poly water tank insuring water temperature stays constant.
Water Tank Deck Fill Port
Provides deck level fill port for the water tank. Prevents operator from having to climb on top of unit to fill water tank. Uses 1-1/2" (38.1mm) coupling.
