Title: Large Equipment Repair Technician
Type: Full-time, day shift (6AM – 2:30PM)
Location: Ephrata, PA
Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to maintain, troubleshoot and repair the hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and structural systems on heavy equipment (volumetric concrete mixers). This position requires the ability to endure strenuous physical demands, including working in the constraints of confined space at times. Individual must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
· Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on equipment using diagnostic tools and other techniques
· Repair, disassemble and reassemble components on a volumetric concrete mixer
· Read and interpret blue prints and schematics and apply basic mathematics
· Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
· Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
· Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure efficient operations.
· Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
· Communicate with customers about diagnosis and repairs
Qualifications and Skills:
· 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair (education experience qualifies)
· Welding and fabrication experience
· Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
· Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics and apply basic mathematics.
· Troubleshooting skills to identify problems and think of possible solutions independently.
· Ability to travel and diagnose and complete road repairs as needed
· Familiar with manufacturing shop equipment and safety regulations.
· Ability to read and use measuring tools to precise measurements.
· Must be detail orientated
· Demonstrate positive attitude, self-sufficiency and self-starter skills.
· Proficient computer skills
· Valid PA Driver’s License
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Mechanical Vocational training (a plus).
Physical Demands:
· Ability to bend, stoop, stretch and twist repeatedly. Including climb up/down ladders, working from ladders and climbing in and out of equipment, dexterity to work in confined spaces and crawling/laying/working under equipment.
· Safely lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects 50 lbs or more.
