Barge-Mounted Mixer for NY DOT Underwater Project
When a customer needed a machine for a critical underwater concrete project, we designed a custom mixer that could be mounted on a barge and could self-load materials. The unit also had to produce a variety of specific concrete mixes. We delivered a solution that not only met but exceeded all New York Department of Transportation (NY DOT) specifications, ensuring the project was completed on time.
Rapid-Setting Material Required Separate Sealed Bins & Training
An existing customer requested a unit that had to be skid mounted, and meet strict space requirements. The mixer was to be loaded onto a standard flatcar when needed, and used to place a rapid setting material inside tunnels. This mixer needed to have 2 separate, sealed bins that could be used together or individually and had to have the capability of being operated from the deck of the flatcar or remotely to ensure operator safety. The contract also called for an extensive training program to be developed specifically for their machine, and needed to be written and submitted for approval, and delivered to each group that may need to utilize the unit. Zimmerman designed, built and delivered the unit on schedule and to the custom specifications. All provisions of the contract were met, and several training sessions were held with each shift of each department.
Custom Trailer Mixer Exceeds Expectations on Condominium Build
Zimmerman Industries was contracted by a specialty contractor in northern Massachusetts to design and build a custom volumetric concrete mixer. The contractor, a long-time Zim-Mixer user on projects for the Massachusetts Turnpike and Logan Airport, requested a unit with several key features: sealed bins, hydraulic loading doors, a self-contained stabilizing system, and a digital interface, all mounted on a trailer. Upon delivery, the new unit went straight to work on a large condominium project in Danvers, MA. The machine produced approximately 100 batches of a gypsum-based sub-floor material on its first day, a testament to how well it was built. It not only fulfilled all the customer’s requirements but also went above and beyond their expectations.
